Support: Proxies: CGI Proxy
Our CGI proxy blocks ads, popups, kick throughs, web bugs, malicious scripts, web based viruses like nimda,
and more. The CGI proxy is web-based only, and is available in plain HTTP or SSL. You can use encoded or non-encoded
URLs with the CGI Proxy.
The CGI proxy is purely web based and will work for HTTP and FTP urls. It is particularly useful
to those who travel or who are away from their usual computer and cannot install anything.
To access the CGI proxy:
- Login to your Cotse account, and click the "Web Proxy" link at the top of the page (for greater security
and privacy, use the secure login page when you login).
- Click on the link for nonencoded urls or encoded urls. You will then get a screen that enables you to set your
preferences for handling cookies, scripts, ads, and referrer information. It will also enable you to show the url
entry form at the top of each web page so you can enter new urls as you surf.
Some sites will not work via the CGI proxy. It is the most restrictive of the proxies with filtering and this
does break some sites.
Please read our cautionary notes for web proxy users before using any
of our web proxies.
