Alex De Joode on Cheshire's filtering and inspecting messages and where it could lead to. What you forget is that by filtering remailers defacto are using editorial control over messages they 'post/remail'. Being a common carrier is something totally different that being 'an editor' responsable for -ALL- content that flows trough your remailer. Now if you want to inspect every single message, fine. I'm not doing it as it would open a can full of lawyer worms. When you run a remailer you run it for the 'good' messages and the 'bad' messages. Trying to weed out the 'bad' messages somehow must encompass monitoring the traffic, so you are in effect snooping on messages, in my book a big NO-NO for remop. As you also filter based on subjective notions as 'flood' etc I think you are becoming an untrustworthy remop, you monitor and filter. So you propose to monitor and filter traffic. Next thing is to add a arabic scanner into it to fight terrorism, it's only a few lines of code and than maybe some extra lines for message that might interest the IRS, after all if people do not pay their taxes the US cannot continue to be an empire and so forth and so forth. Face it, it looks like you are trying to kill the network from inside ... Cheers, Alex de Joode adejoode(at)sabotage.org Sabotage Internet: Your Internet Problem Provider.
