For me, the issue is one of principle. I feel very strongly about the natural right to speak ones mind freely. To say things that will infurate and even offend. Even if those words are directed at *me*. Its a natural *right* - not just some lowly privilige - to speak your mind and to OFFEND others. What other form of speech deserves protection?! If its not offending anyone, it doesn't need protection. The temptation to stiffle speech that offends exists in every person. And it manifests itself when people are entrusted with the capacity to act on that temptation to censor content which they think is offensive. I realized that when I decided to run a remailer and I went to great lengths to make *impossible* for me to do that to the people that use my remailer. Afterall, I am only human and I am not perfect. So, it deeply disturbs me to see a remailer operator censoring otherwise LEGAL speech that is just offending someone. That to me is totally unacceptable and I do not understand why users are defending that action. Perhaps I misunderstood and thought that users of remailers understood that it was the UNPOPULAR speech that needed protection, not the speech we can all agree is worthy of our highest regards. Perhaps eelbash made an honest mistake. I am still waiting on the eelbash admins comments on this point. Taking sides by calling one half of a flame war a "psycho" seems to really be missing the point of running a remailer. You don't take sides. You must defend the right of others to say things that offend you. Unforunately, it looks like someone is forging posts from the eelbash-admin so I've had a very difficult time determining what it is the eelbash-admin really things. One thing I would like to know, that will certainly make my mind up in a flash to block eelbash, is if the eelbash-admin really said he would filter based on the seven dirty words, or on racial slurs and so on.
