Since This page was constructed, certain remailers may have become Middleman only. Aarg is one of these. So in the example below, you can replace aarg with metacolo, dizum, antani or some other non middle remailer for the final remailer in your config file. In QuickSilver, open the toobar menu to View | type 2.list to pick a remailer that does NOT have the capital letter M at the end of its string.
You
must check whether the nym you have chosen is
an already existing nym on nym.alias.net.
To
do this you open up QuickSilver and use the TOOLS menu to find
FINGER. Clicking on FINGER will bring up the QuickSilver Finger
Client dialog box.
Open the drop down menu and choose LIST@NYM.ALIAS.NET
Click
on FINGER and QuickSilver will connect with nym.alias.net.
Within a few seconds it will download its list of active nyms iinside
the Finger Client's window. If your nym choice isn't in that list,
you're free to use it.
A
while after sending off your nym, you can finger nym.alias to see
if your nym appears on the list. Although,It will remain inactive until
you
answer the confirming e-mail from nym.alias. This should take only a few
hours
Click on ToolS|Nym
Wizard on the QuickSilver toolbar, or the pair
of sunglasses to the far right on the tool bar. Either will bring
up the Nym Wizard. (Below)
Click on "Create a nym account "
Then click on "Next"
If you have made a PGP key for your nym, it will appear
when you click
on the drop down menu in the Wizard. (Below)
If you click on "Nymserver List " to the lower right of the
Wizard
It will bring up a list of available nym servers if you installed the QSNym
plugin.
After clicking on "Next", you will come to QuickSilver's Reply
Block Template. I would advise against copy/pasting over this template.
Each time I tried to take the easy way out, the spacing got screwed up.
If you click on "Tools" in the lower right,
you can make
the Edit window larger.
Click on "Next" after filling in the block with the info
from the block we created on the last page. (It's right below this.)

Carefully check your spacing according to the
instructions
on the last page.
When through, move on to the next step in the Nym Wizard.
Do what they say - REVIEW IT once more once!
When you are satisfied it's right, click on " Finish "
Above is what you'll see after you click " Finish. "
Click the " OK " button in the Confirm window dialog box
and cross your fingers. ![]()
If it spits up and won't process your reply block, check your SPACING.
Especially if it tells you there is no server by the name of austria or
aarg.
This notice usually means you have screwed up spacing somewhere.
If everything goes right, here's what you should see after clicking on " OK "
As it says in the box, if you had previously renamed ConfigNym to
NymConfig, you would not see this step. However, if you see this window,
select the "ConfigNym " file and click on " OK ".
If everything went right, below is what you will see
If you see it, chances are with nym.alias and such a simple setup,
you
are as good as home free.
Click "Send " and send it on its way.
If you ever need the reply block for any nym you 've made, look in:
TOOLS|NYM REPORTS
Highlight a nym in the dialog box and the click on COMPLETE PROFILE.
Along with other info, it will have your original reply block there.
Now it's time figure out how to answer the encrypted " Confirm
"
message when it comes from aarg. (Yep. Remember, aarg relays it to you.
it is sent to aarg by austria. And austria gets it from nym.alias.
Kind of round about, eh? Well, that's the idea.
See you on the " REPLYING TO A CONFIRMATION MESSAGE" page.
