Harvey And Hubey

I adopted Harvey and Hubey from the Animal Rescue League - they had been there the longest, and while other hamsters on petfinder.com were coming and going and getting adopted, these 2 goldens remained. So I chose them. I adopted them from a shelter where they told me people typically don't adopt from them, they just drop off. That's so sad.

I immediately gave these boys the best of everything, from housing to food to exercise to handling and loving.

Harvey died 5 weeks after I got him, and Hubey died a week after that, both from blood clots. They went easily, but slowly. I've discovered that hamsters sometimes seem preprogrammed to just turn off, usually from something like a blood clot in a critical artery. And siblings often go close together.

The hams didn't have long with me, but at least they experienced a wonderful luxurious life before they died, and they weren't in a shelter. They went to the Bridge surrounded in love.

I hope they remember me.
