My Comments On PETsMART
Well, I don't have any nice stories to tell about PETsMART. I wrote
to them concerning their use of glue traps in their stores to kill
mice and rats (and they also sell domestic mice and rats). I got a
rather prepackaged letter in response:

Thank you for taking the time to share your concerns with us. We’ve
seriously investigated and tested the use of glue traps for some
time.
We've explored many alternatives, taking into account many important
factors, including associate health and safety, the nature of the glue
trap, it’s effectiveness and cost. However, after a period in which we
didn’t use glue traps, we determined they were necessary in certain
circumstances.
High on our list of considerations was the fact that glue traps
capture all rodent fecal matter, urine and hair (which can carry
disease and other health risks). This provides a healthier and safer
environment for our associates. We continue to research new approaches
to pest control, recognizing that no matter what method we use, short
of allowing rodents to run free, there will be some level of
disagreement.

I wrote back to them, suggested they seal up the holes through which
the pests get into their stores, and said that they wouldn't be using
any of MY money to pay for those traps, and got the following reply.
I think it shows just where PETsMART stands on the issue. It's easier
for them to simply cause those intruders a horrible suffering death,
creating a vacuum which nature will fill with... more intruders.
